Jazz Singer @AlJarreau dies at 76 years old 

Just days after he retires,due to exhaustion from touring, the Jazz Singer passed away this morning with his family at his side. 

Al Jarreau was born March 12, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His father was a minister of a Seventh Day Adventist church where he sang in the choir as a child. He’s won 7 Grammys during his career, he’s wrote lyrics for Grammy nominated show “Moonlighting”, and he’s toured with some of the GREATS: George Benson, Miles Davis, Natalie Cole and Chick Corea.

According to his website and management team:

“Al Jarreau passed away this morning, at about 5:30 a.m. LA time. He was in the hospital, kept comfortable by Ryan [his son], Susan [his wife], and a few of his family and friends,” read a statement released by Joe Gordon, the singer’s publicist.
